ECOnnect Energy is excited to welcome Frida Mathea Kocian as our new HR Business Partner. With a strong background in HR operations, recruitment, and a passion for diversity and inclusion, Frida brings a wealth of experience to our team.

"I find the renewable energy sector very rewarding to work in. We’re at a pivotal point where we need to rethink how we use, produce, and enable greener energy solutions globally," Frida says. "Being part of a company that actively contributes to this shift is both exciting and meaningful."

A diverse HR background

Before joining ECOnnect, Frida spent nearly two years at Hystar, leading HR operations and recruitment efforts, where she focused on developing people-focused systems and processes. She has also worked with recruitment and HR at Telenor Norge and Mercell Group, where she gained valuable experience in employer branding, recruitment, and creating inclusive, high-performance work environments.

"I really enjoy the variety within HR," Frida shares. "I started out with a focus on recruitment — which will always be a core part of HR — but I also love challenging myself and learning new things by broadening my expertise across the field."

An active lifestyle and community engagement

Outside of work, Frida stays active with pilates and strength training, and she’s engaged in her local community. Since 2022, she has led Grimstad Pride, helping to establish and grow an inclusive and welcoming space for all.

Frida also has a passion for food — both in her own kitchen and out exploring Oslo’s vibrant food scene. Slowly but surely, she’s working her way through a long list of restaurants and bars, ticking them off one by one. If you ask her for a recommendation, Hotshop and Hotpot are two clear favorites.
