In 2017, La Santa Maria was built. The C-Class platform was part of the first ever IQuay C-Class System.

Later the same year, the system was in operation, as Naturgy Energy Group S.A. (then Natural Gas Fenosa) and ECOnnect Energy (then Connect LNG) made history with the world's first jettyless LNG transfer.

In 2021, Naturgy and ECOnnect joined forces with Gasum and Air Liquide Skagerak to complete another commercial LNG transfer at Herøya, logging flow rate and pressure data in the floating hoses to benchmark performance against traditional solutions.

2017 Operation

Location: Herøya, Norway
Speed of execution: From detailed design to successful hook‑up, project execution took less than six months.
Permitting advantage: The marine permitting process took about three months, compared to around three years for a quay constructed at the same location.
Rapid installation: The system was installed in one day after arrival from the dockyard and was in full operation the day after.

2021 Operation

‍Operational approach: The cargo was delivered with minimal personnel for aerial hose hookup to the carrier vessel, and the discharge was remotely monitored from shore.
Performance measurements: The operation collected measurements of flow rate, friction, and pressure in the floating, flexible hoses.
Two-phase execution: Phase 1 circulated fluid from the carrier high manifold through the IQuay system and back to the carrier lower manifold to calculate hose friction factor; Phase 2 completed commercial offloading to onshore storage tanks between Gasum and Air Liquide Skagerak.
