It was a real honor to receive Norway’s most prestigious technology award yesterday, presented by Teknisk Ukeblad, and to be in such great company alongside impressive finalists like Aibel Offshore Wind, NORSAR, Sensio and Vianode. Even more special: the award was handed out in Kongsberg, which is a world-leading hub for maritime technology and innovation. The perfect place to celebrate a milestone for marine infrastructure!
“This means a lot to the whole ECOnnect Energy team. Winning the Norwegian Tech Award is an important recognition of the solid, long-term work everyone at ECOnnect has put in over the years. I’m incredibly proud of our team” says our CEO, Morten A. Christophersen.
“We believe simpler, faster, and more cost-effective alternatives are needed to ensure energy supply to Europe and other regions, especially in a cleaner and more climate-friendly way,” Christophersen added.
This year’s jury, led by Kjetil Lein, praised ECOnnect for its high degree of innovation and execution capability, highlighting its vital contribution to energy security in today’s complex geopolitical landscape.
“It was a tough competition. Being recognized like this means a lot,” said Clausen.
The jury emphasized the strategic importance of ECOnnect’s technology, noting its ability to enable rapid deployment of substantial energy volumes without disrupting sensitive environments. The innovation is not only fast to implement but also adaptable for future needs. The jury also highlighted ECOnnect Energy’s origin story as particularly inspiring, noting that the project began as a student startup at NTNU. They commended how the founders have impressively developed the idea into an established company with a physical product already in operation, across the world.
