Over the next eight weeks, they’ll be working alongside us on meaningful projects that support our mission to redefine marine energy infrastructure. Here is your chance to get to know them!
Erle Damm is currently studying Civil Engineering at NTNU, specializing in Industrial Economy and Technology Management. She’s passionate about sustainability and saw the internship as an opportunity to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical work in the energy sector.
“When I came across the internship listing, I checked out ECOnnect on LinkedIn and was genuinely inspired,” says Erle. “There seemed to be so many exciting possibilities for the future that really appealed to me.”
A glimpse into the future
For Ola Bakkom, a master’s student in Marine Engineering at NTNU Trondheim, the appeal lay in ECOnnect’s technical depth and ambition. With a focus on marine machinery, he’s excited to explore how engineering and operations intersect in real-world clean tech deployment.
“I first heard about ECOnnect at a company presentation,” says Ola. “Coming from a maritime and renewable background, I was drawn to the way ECOnnect bridges the conservative maritime industry with forward-looking energy solutions. It feels like a glimpse into the future.”
Full-circle moment
This year’s cohort also includes two students from NTNU’s School of Entrepreneurship — the same program that ECOnnect itself originated from.
Guro Stålstrøm sees her internship as a full-circle moment. With a strong interest in early-stage growth and business development, she’s looking forward to contributing to the company’s continued evolution.
“I first heard about ECOnnect through NTNU’s School of Entrepreneurship, and it stood out as a true success story,” says Guro. “Getting the chance to experience the inner workings of a scale-up like this is incredibly valuable. I’m excited to learn how a company like ECOnnect operates from the inside.”
Challenge the status quo
Nora Grønås, also from the entrepreneurship program, is especially interested in strategic communications and how storytelling can drive the green transition. With a background in innovation and marketing, she’s ready to take on new challenges in an industry that’s rapidly changing.
“I’m looking forward to learning completely new things and pushing myself in a space I don’t know much about yet,” says Nora. “Just because you finish studying doesn’t mean you stop learning — and I think it’s exciting to enter a more traditional industry where you can challenge the status quo a little.”
As they settle in, our interns will work alongside experienced team members across departments, gaining insights, building skills, and contributing to our shared goals. And while their expertise varies, what they all share is a genuine curiosity and a drive to make a difference.
We’re thrilled to have them on board. Welcome, summer interns of 2025!
