Tonje joins our team to help amplify that story and contribute to shaping our commercial strategy as we expand into new markets.
“Both my education and career have been rooted in a vision of contributing to a cleaner future,” she says. “I started in renewable energy engineering before gradually moving into the maritime industry.”
After completing her Master’s degree in Technology Management at NTNU, Tonje spent the past five years at Maritime CleanTech, where she worked at the intersection of innovation, industry collaboration, and communication. Her experience includes leading innovation projects for shipowners and organizing major industry events such as the Nor-Shipping Hydrogen Conference and Chasing Zero.
Bridging Technical Insight and Market Positioning
Tonje brings a unique combination of technical understanding and commercial communication, a valuable asset in an industry where complexity and credibility go hand in hand.
“My career has taken a pivot from engineering to marketing and business development. It may sound like an unusual transition, but having technical insight makes it much easier to communicate clearly and credibly with industry stakeholders,” she explains.
At Econnect Energy, she becomes part of the commercial team, where business development and marketing go hand in hand. In a rapidly evolving energy landscape, close dialogue with customers is essential to delivering solutions that meet real-world needs.
“Working closely with customers gives us direct insight into the demands of their projects. As their needs evolve, so should our messaging and value proposition. That’s how we ensure that not only Econnect Energy, but our solutions, remain relevant and positioned to support the energy transition.”
